Paul J. West Jr. is a father, husband and servant of the Lord who now serves as a professional  chaplain, writer and speaker.   He is native Chicagoan who first heard God’s call to  chaplaincy while  volunteering as a Eucharistic minister at St. Thomas the Apostle in Hyde Park.  After completing an ACPE certified internship and residency in the Advocate Health Care, he now serves at Franciscan Health Hospital in Olympia Fields, Illinois.

As a former educator for over two decades, Paul taught a variety of religion, scripture and philosophy/ethics courses at four Chicago area high schools while  also teaching adults in the Chicago Catholic Scripture School. His parish work and extended ministry has included preaching, writing and presenting seminars for various institutions and parishes.

Paul and his wife Dr. Joy West are native south siders and parishioners at St. Thomas the Apostle in Hyde Park. They have raised four beautiful daughters who are all hardcore Bears and White Sox fans!!!
